Lee Beach (b. 1997)

Lee Beach is a fourth-generation El Pasoan, drawing deeply from the cultural fusion of the El Paso-Juárez borderlands. His work blends contemporary pop art with rich historical narratives, using mediums such as giclée prints, acrylics, and leafing. Known for collaborating with iconic figures like Tom Lea, a 20th-century artist renowned for his vivid portrayals of Western life, Lee Beach works with the Tom Lea Institute to bring these timeless works into the 21st century. Each piece in Lee’s portfolio connects tradition with modernity, reflecting the vibrancy of the Borderplex region while adding splashes of Mexican influence, seen in homages to brands like Topo Chico and Jarritos.

Lee’s work is an ongoing dialogue with the history and culture of the Borderplex, where the duality of life on the U.S.-Mexico border serves as his muse. He transforms familiar imagery—from Texas icons to Mexican cultural symbols—into something new yet deeply rooted in its origins. Whether through vibrant homages to brands or reimagined Western scenes, his goal is to create art that speaks to the shared experiences of the borderland, inviting viewers to explore their connections to both past and present.
